株式会社ACCELStars、武田薬品工業「ニューロサイエンスチャレンジ」に採択

東京大学発のスリープテック／ニューロテックスタートアップの株式会社ACCELStars（本社：福岡県久留米市、代表取締役：宮原禎、以下「ACCELStars」）は、武田薬品工業株式会社（以下「武田薬品」）が主催する、ニューロサイエンス領域におけるデジタルヘルス・コーポレートパートナーシッププログラム「ニューロサイエンスチャレンジ」に採択されたことをお知らせいたします。

本プログラムは、革新的な研究や治療法を通じて、神経疾患を持つ患者さんの生活が大きく改善することへの貢献、神経疾患が人々や社会に与える深刻な影響に対処することを目指す武田薬品が、睡眠覚醒障害をはじめとする神経疾患領域における新たなデジタルヘルスソリューションの創出を目的として実施するものです。

とくに、睡眠覚醒障害の患者さんやそのご家族のQuality of Life（QoL）向上、および診療を担う医師の支援に資する企業・団体との協働を通じた、医療・ヘルスケア領域における新しい価値の創出を目指しています。

神経疾患領域の中でも、過眠症をはじめとする睡眠覚醒障害は、ニューロサイエンスの最前線であり、社会的影響が大きいにもかかわらず、適切な診断・治療の機会が限られている分野です。近年、AIやデジタル技術を活用した診療支援・患者行動変容支援への期待が高まっています。

ACCELStarsは、これまで培ってきた技術を活用し、新たな睡眠障害のスクリーニングおよび治療支援のモデル構築に取り組みます。

今回の採択を通じて、武田薬品との共同価値検証（Proof of Value：PoV）を推進し、過眠症をはじめとした睡眠覚醒障害領域における価値提供の加速を目指してまいります。

ACCELStars Selected for Takeda’s “Neuroscience Challenge” to Advance Digital Health Solutions for Narcolepsy and Sleep-Wake Disorders

Tokyo, Japan — ACCELStars Inc. (CEO: Tadashi Miyahara; hereinafter “ACCELStars”) is pleased to announce that it has been selected for the “Neuroscience Challenge”, a corporate partnership program in the neuroscience field organized by Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited (“Takeda”).

The program aims to improve the lives of patients with neurological disorders through digital health partnerships. Takeda launched this initiative to explore partnerships with companies and organizations that can deliver cutting-edge digital health solutions designed to enhance the Quality of Life (QoL) of patients suffering from sleep-wake disorders—such as narcolepsy—and to support physicians who care for them.

Sleep-wake disorders, including narcolepsy, represent a critical frontier in neuroscience. Despite their recognized societal impact, there remains a significant unmet need for practical solutions that leverage digital technologies to assist both patients and healthcare professionals.

Through this selection, ACCELStars will utilize its proprietary technologies to develop new models for the screening and management of sleep disorders. Together with Takeda, the company will advance a joint Proof of Value (PoV) initiative to accelerate co-creation in the field of sleep-wake disorders, with a focus on narcolepsy.

Tadashi Miyahara — President & CEO

After leading new business development at Recruit Holdings and serving as CEO of multiple ventures, Miyahara became CEO of Healthcare Data Platform Co., Ltd., where he launched “PepUp”, one of Japan’s largest PHR (Personal Health Record) services. Following the company’s integration with JMDC, he directed Japan’s exclusive partnership with Fitbit. He has served as CEO of ACCELStars since May 2021.

Hiroki Ueda, M.D., Ph.D. — Founder / Director

Professor, Graduate School of Medicine, The University of Tokyo; concurrently Professor, Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, The University of Tokyo. Dr. Ueda earned his Ph.D. in 2004 and previously served as Team Leader at RIKEN. His research focuses on systems pharmacology and sleep science.
